zico said… Hi Santosh,
It is always better to ask your doc for Anti-inflammatory recommendations if you have never used Ibuprofen before. You should contact Heath Mathews at Kokila Ben for this matter and he will also show you not only stretches but the use of what is called a 'Foam Roller'.

It is quite certainly ITBS and you will find the following link of help.

Please let me know if it worked for you.

Natasha said… Have you tried keeping a log book? I used to be very lazy about my runs too, but after I started maintaining a log book, I find I have become a little more regular. Mine is a simple spreadsheet- date, day (of the week), target distance/ time, actual distance, actual time, comments. My target is running 4 days a week, so I put "rest" on all the other days. Sometimes I miss a day, but since that is there staring at me, I end up making up the next day.
Try it- might work.
Natasha said… I've tried swinging, and it takes more effort and/ or strength than you claim.
And thats' the nice thing about the running fraternity- you connect because of a passion you share. The meaningless things like name, age, profession, etc, etc, don't enter the equation till much later.
BTW- I'm doing the full too next year, and my aim is to finish before the mat is rolled up. Maybe we can pace each other.
