The best you can do is to train for the full marathon using "Hal Higdon'" program for beginners. The calf muscles will strengthen as a result of your training for this distance. Your cramping may be related to your dehydration or salt intake.
The full marathon is a special distance and not one to fool around with. In order to finish your FM in 7hrs you would have to run-walk some of it. If you attempt to eliminate the walk and run, instead, you may end up NOT FINISHING IT, because there is a condition called hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) and possibly dehydration in the peak mumbai heat, which will cause you to opt out of the race.
Thank you for your post on my profile. It is not practical to target a full marathon in 6hrs if your time for the half is 3:10. The closest you would come is 6hrs 45 mins. Unless your timings for the half are in the range of 2:50, you would find it difficult to do a full in less than 6hrs. I am afraid this is the truth and you must work on getting faster in the half M first. All the best.
Thank you for joining the group Run Run Run .... Run Mumbai Run. Tomorrow, Sunday 31st, our group is doing a group run at Borivali National Park at 6.45am. Further details are put on our group's Discussion Forum.
We will be happy if you could join us.
