How are you doing? Just wanted to let you know that I completed my first Marathon, in Monterrey. Thought timing was not that great (5:02 hrs), I am just happy that I completed it and was able to walk around after the marathon!
Hope you are recovering well from the cold symptoms and the temparatures outside have improved.
Take care.

New Year Greetings to you and to your family from Vienna. Thanks fo your note. Unfortunately I have no plans to run marathons in India this year. Perhaps some good opportunity comes up. Let's see.
Right now in Vienna we have winter. It has been snowing for the past couple of days and the temperatures are sub-zero. It is bit slippery out there to run. I am also waiting for my cold symptoms to disappear. I caught cold over Christmas while in Finland. It was -17C in my wife's place.
There is a marathon near Passau, GER, next month. If I recover well and get some long runs before then, I might attempt. Otherwise next will be on 14 March 2010 in Kandel, GER.
Thanks a lot for thinking of me. All the best for your running. Please keep in touch.

Your journey into running seems to be serendipity but you have turned it into an inspiration for all of us. One day, I hope to graduate to a Full M.
Keep writing. You are indeed an awesome Marathoner.

Thanks for your response. Just in 2009 I slowly got started into running (all my previous runs were just a struggle!).
I have run only few 10K in Monterrey. Two were mostly on the roads, but one was little out on the country ide and was south of this place and had a better scenery. Monterrey is on the border between a desert and a starting of tropical vegetation.
Next Monterrey marathon is on 13 Dec 2009, one of the colder times here. I am not sure I will be ready by that time. I will need to try some more long runs and check my readiness! I would be happy to run with you and give it a try, if you are coming.
I am not much into climbing, though I have inclination to. I have lot more enthusiasm than my capability though! :-) but I love to do more. I have done few memorable ones (in my list), Grand Canyon in a day, Mount Fiji, cycling to Ooty (nearly 1000 KM) and a five day trekking in White mountains in MA, USA (around 50 miles). I love to get lost in the nature.
I initially thought I have only few years left to achive a marathon (I am 39), your achivement is an inspiration to try more. Thanks for your comments. Look forward to your learnings and best practices on your blog/comments.
Cheers,
Sas
