Urgent help needed for racing flat (size)

Hi guys,I am looking to buy my first racing flat. Maybe Asics Tarther. Now I usually wear US 8.5 (UK 7.5). However, from where I am buying they only have UK 7, UK 8, UK 9, etc.,no half sizes.Being an online purchase, I have no way to try it out, but of course, I can return it if the size is not okay.Still, to avoid the trouble involved with this, I wonder which size I should buy UK 7? Especially being a racing flat, which has less padding.Please help guys.See More

Siliguri 15K race day report - a race of bus rides.

What is the best way to run a fast 15K? Three guesses.1. Intervals training with 800/1600 meters Wrong there buddy.2. Tempo intervals then?Wrong again there mate.3. Long tempo runs then?Oh oh! Hi John,

I'm a first year MBA student at IIM Calcutta from Bangalore. Being an avid runner I was part of the Nike Run Club in Bangalore and have also participated in quite a few runs including the Kaveri Trail Marathon 2009 (21 Kms). We at IIM Calcutta are planning to organize a long distance run in Kolkata as a part of our institute's golden jubilee celebrations. Unfortunately we do not have access to any run clubs here in Kolkata due to which we are facing difficulties in carrying forward our plan. I kindly request you to provide us with some contacts here in Kolkata who would be able to provide us with the relevant info.

Hi John, That is difficult , to start slowly all over again anyway "rest" is the best doctor. I know you'll come back strong after recovering. ..one step back to move 2 steps ahead .
btw, I think i should mention it here mayve it'll help you ..there is a back-clinic by dr Garima abt which we receiving feedback ras an excellent ehabilitation clinic for sports injury.
If you desire , I can put you up with Bijay Nair and Mr Venkat who are my good runner friends and have undergone treatment there.

Hi John
Proper training is crucial ...need to follow a training calendar that is created for you is the starting point . This will usually have 2 quality work sessions (hill-repeats , speed work , fartlek etc.,) ,
one LSD and two recovery runs between with one day off in a week . You would also need to do some strenght work (gym) and core work-out. I average about 60-70 km / week during maintenence and peak upto 120 km before Two Oceans & Comrades . The key to speed is proper quality workouts . Hope this helps . Raju
