It is said that every marathon teaches you different things which you have never experienced! Auroville Marathon was not exception to this. The climatic conditions were humid, warm, the course was better than Banglore Ultra Marathon, the trail was more soft as against Banglore Ultra where it is hard stone /rock ,causing less trauma to the joints and muscles, the water and electral stations were placed on every 4 k mark, navigation was good.I had 5.30 in my mind as my estimated time,I finished quiet…See More

Sea link deserted place, chaotic Worli loop

The 7th Mumbai Marathon had 2 drawbacks this year. The Sea Link was like a hot iron plate and runners getting baked nicely devoid of water, had been the entire loop reverse that is from CST to Sea Link and then through ShivajiPark it would have decreased the damage. The Worli loop was a chaos, the half marathoners were a big hindrance to the full marathoners, this could be well prevented agin by changing the marathon running loop as I mentioned above and doing worli loop on way back while returning…See More

Dear Ajit ,

GRM was excellent route with a lot of ups and downs with a killer 1.5 km hill... it is much tougher than SCMM and I would recommend you to run this event next time . I think in 4 yrs time ,if they implement all precautions, it will be one of the premier runs in our country.

I did a 2:22 ( have gained 4 kgs in past one month ....and reflected on the timing ). Kicking myself for a poor discipline.....:-) but WILL SAVE THE BEST FOR SCMM no XCUSES. Howz your running ? rgds, Veera

Great run , now you have tamed both the demons - speed and endurance !! The big one (SCMM) is round the corner............all our training here will be put to test Dhoodh ka dhoodh aur pani ka pani ho jayega !!!
