Hey everyone,

Let's get together at least once a week (either Saturday/Sunday) to run as a group at the No 1 Running Location in Bangalore. Our general meeting place in the Ganesha Temple within the campus.

What makes GKVK so special? One of our GKVK regualars, BB Patil, put it nicely "nice traffic-free roads, less crowded grounds, scenic trails and a pollution free atmosphere". Perfect for runs of any distance.

So what are you waiting for? Feel free to call for a run at any time using the discussion section and/or the "Send Message to Group" option of this group.

Happy GKVK Running!

Directions to the GKVK campus:
The campus is located just before Jakkur Air Force Station.
a.. You have to get to Mekhri Circle and take the road to Hebbal.
b.. It is a straight road from Mekhri Circle to Hebbal flyover.
c.. Go up and down the flyover without taking any deviations.
d.. From the foot of the flyover if you go 3kms you will find L&T Komatsu office on your left.
e.. GKVK campus is the property next to L&T Komatsu
f.. Enter the GKVK campus gate (there is a Mahatma Gandhi statue next
to the gate)

Once you are in front of UAS campus gates:
a.. Get into the campus from this gate without any hesitation and go
straight till you pass two big playgrounds on your left.
b.. Look for a basketball court on your left and on going a little ahead you will find a Ganesha temple to your left.
c.. The Ganesha Temple in UAS Campus is the starting point. There is ample parking space available near the temple.

Hello Raju.

The distance from ganesha temple to the main gate is approximately 1.25kms. So, a round trip to the main gate from the temple is about 2.5km.

A round trip from Ganesha temple to NCBS gate is approximately 1.2kms.

The following links will give you some general idea of distances:

BTW, I stay in kempapura, which is very close to your place. I might join you on Saturday/sunday, but cannot confirm right away.

Around the Bhuvaneshwari nagar, I usually run towards the Rachenahalli lake from kempapura via the dasarahalli road. Take a loop of the Telecom layout and back. It is a good route. May be we can run together sometime.

Hi, I would like to run my next long run 30K at GKVK on this coming saturday/sunday morning. But I have never run at this place, so do not know the distances from the Ganesha Temple. Is there any markings or any landmark to know the distance when you run at GKVK ? Anyone running at GKVK this coming sat/sun ? I stay at Bhuvaneswari nagar/Hebbal-kempapura, Anyone who stay nearby planning for the KTM 12 Half/Full ? Would like to join at GKVK for the long runs for the next two or three long runs... Thanks. Raju
