Hi Umesh, gd luck running in Sundown Marathon!

Just to share with you based on my experience in Singapore and also the route as I have ran most parts before in races in Singapore:

1) The humidity at night is tough. If it doesnt rain, expect it to be at 90-95%.  Try to wear something light like a running singlet and shorts with light material to keep cool. Take isotonic at every station to replenish salt.

2) Certain sections of the routes have narrow paths and bottlenecks, and may likely to have congestion: especially on the tanjong rhu and gardens by the bay section. May want to take note of this for your sub-4 timing

3) A lot of turns and u-turns along the route too. May want to factor this to keep on pace. Last I ran along this route I missed my PB even though I knew I was running faster per km on  the straights than in previous races. It was the slowing down at the turnings that made me miss my PB. Accelerating out of the turns is taxing too.

4) Lastly there are a group of 4:00 pacers http://www.sundownmarathon.com/index.php?page=official-pacers-marathon. They are very reliable and very experienced marathoners that practice an even-paced strategy throughout the marathon. You may want to follow them for the first 10k to navigate out of the crowd get into the zone before going a little faster for the next 30k. That was what I did when I broke 4hr for Sundown 4 years ago.
