Its been 3 weeks since I ran, reason being a nagging pain in my knees. the pain was more while walking, I actually walked with a noticeable limp. but running was normal with little pain.

What I observed : Walking was difficult - Running Not

Climbing Down stairs was difficult - Climbing Up NOT

Squatting in toilet ( Indian Style) was painful  getting back standing More painful.

It all started with the wrong kind of food, indigestion & topped it up with an attempt to do 10K.

I knew this was coming, cause I was too lazy to get up in the morning & run, as I had put up a discussion saying running just 2 days – Sat & Sundays was good.

This went on for just 2 months then it was just once a week & on Sundays I would attempt to do 10K, but in just 6 months not only my Lungs but even my feet went to their former self.

4 days ago I finally sought my Family Doc. Mr. Sameer Potdar's, advice  & already feeling the advances made in the field of Medicine. the pain has reduced considerably.

He prescribed my 4 types of tablets,  2 from  his clinic & 2 from the chemists.

1)      Enzoflam : Paracetamol + Diclofinac Sodium &  Serratiopeptidase

http://www.prescriptiondrug-info.com/topics/enzoflam-side-effect/

2)      PAN 40 : Pantoprazole Sodium – Delayed release Tablet

http://www.prescriptiondrug-info.com/topics/pan-40-mg/

From the above sites I gathered that Enzoflam is a pain killer & the other PAN 40 helps

reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach.

Caution : Please do not take these tabs without your Docs. advice. " nahi to Lene ke dene padege"

Mike - really happy to read that you are making progress. I was under the impression that I had posted this on Sunday and realised just now that my wishes remained in my heart rather than on paper :) we look forward indeed to have you take part in one of the NMR training runs. Thanks once again for all the good you have done for this community. May God give you strength to overcome all these temporary obstacles. Cheers.

Hi Sri, You have always been good to me, THANKS for the kind words. I do it cause i like to.

Tell me when you have your major runs so i can come - run & click you all, its called Mixing Business with Pleasure. :))

Dear Mike,

Good to hear that you are better and started your runs.

I hope to meet u in one of the mumbai runs.

Ameya

I had similar problem after running 10 k at Powai Run on 8th Jan.

With Mumbai half marathon just 6 days later. I only took rest, and treated my knees by applying MOOV and wearing knee caps. I ran with knee caps. Completed 21.1 k run in 2:01:38.

However, during run I also got cramps around my groin. With this experience I plan to be better prepared for the Thane Half marathon. I need to know how to better my Knees and the groin muscles.

Happy to inform you that i have recovered about 80%, today : Feb 5th, i could do my longest run of 5Kms non-stop, it started with a slow run of 1 km - stopped - walked - 3 min - stared, did another 1.5 kms, & this went on for 1 full hour & some where in between i did 5kms.

but after that my right knee became slightly stiff but by evening it was ok. Venkat : any remedy ?

I am off any type of painkillers.
