If you want to become the best runner you can be, start now. Don’t spend the rest of your life wondering if you can do it. - Priscialla Welch, Olympian & NYC Marathon winner

Stepping outside the comfort zone is the price I pay to find out how good I can be. If I planned on backing off every time running got difficult I would hang up my shoes and take up knitting.

“Throughout life people will make you mad, disrespect you and treat you bad. Let God deal with the things they do, cause hate in your heart will consume you too.”

And there is your quote for today. It will change before I leave Lisbon though:)

@ Madhu - Thank you..and yes, I did put in a lot on this training plan. As a coach you may get the bouquets if your student succeeds but you most certainly get the brickbats if there is a failure:)

@ Venkat - Thank you for that compliment. Roshni' race plan is attached. I have no info from her about her actual times. In fact the only contact on this 'Comrades' is from you on text and from Dr Oak on phone.

My heart goes out to Dr Oak who had severe cramps could not make it. I am touched by his calling me up to discuss this and also to analyse and discuss over phone as to why he had this problem. I have not done as much for him and this could have waited but it moved me that he called up to express his gratitude for the little that I did for him.

I have something for you Dr Oak;

You can't become a winner overnight, or even in a couple of years-it takes time... You will lose races and you will have to accept that, learn from it and believe that you'll win the next one, knowing that you'll probably lose that as well. All the time you have to keep believing that one day you will win.

First and foremost I would like to thank Venkat. I am in Lisbon and was on a 12 hour bus trip with no way to access the internet nor know what is happening at the 'Comrades'. I got periodic updates from Venkat which told me how Roshni and Dr Oak were performing. Thank you Venkat! Thank you very, very, very much!
