Sunder sir had attended . Also, heard its a gr8 marathon . Even Finishers medal are given.

Alternatively there is a direct flight to Chandigarh costing  Rs 4800 one way.

Chandigarh First Marathon 2010---How can I forget it???

It was on 30 Jan last year--- two weeks post SCMM. The entire event was fantastically managed. Superb weather conditions---in fact very cold to start with and just about cool towards the end of my HM. The track was absolutely flat with just a slight rise as we approach Sukhna lake. The crowd support too was good. The route is a loop of 21k hence 42k runners have to do the same loop twice. Hence at any point of time we have runners moving alongside or in the opposite direction. The water/aid stations were fantastic. Post run they immediately garland a medal at the FP which really makes you feel good!!!

Some points requiring consideration--- Distribution of certs were a big chaos---I blame the runners attitude too due to impatience displayed!!!

SCMM goodie bag spoils us in terms of expectations!!!---No goods in goodie bags, but for a ganjee!!!

I had specifically mentioned that In a few years from now Chandigarh should be a hotshot location for marathon in India!!! Hope Rahul and Chandigarh lives upto expectations.

All the best for the Chandigarh marathon runners 2011

Hi Bijay,

I think the travelling by train would be a good option as in the one time flight cost who can actually travel both ways as given above. so what say ?

@ kavin - you can also look at direct train / flight options to Chandigarh. Saves the hassle of changing at Delhi.

SCMM was amazing...Auroville will be breathtaking...and Chandigarh, well i guess, will have to go there and see...

I am definitely doing this one...3rd marathon in the series of 12m 12m...

@Aparna - best of luck in your 12m12m effort. What are your plans for April to June -

@ Ram: Thanks a ton...and no plans as of yet for those months...it just so happens that something always pops-up out of the blue...the way chandigarh marathon did :) ...just hoping that some or the other marathon comes up in those months...

are you taking part in the strides of hope???

how do we go about registering ourselves for the chandigarh marathon???
