Suresh Pathi is one the veterans at RFL runs. Never one to miss an event and he never needs an excuse to burn some rubber! The only difference being Suresh burns rubber on the tarmac with his running shoes and not his car.
Runners For Life caught up with Suresh to know more about how running is now an inseparable part of his life.
Suresh was a regular runner clocking 4 to 5 km on an average, while the distances he was running helped him stay fit he always had a passion to run longer distances. This situation continued for quite until Suresh heard of Runners For Life and started joining them for the fortnightly runs.
Suresh first heard about Runners For Life, when he read an article in a daily about the Kaveri Trail Marathon which mentioned Runners For Life as the organizers.
Suresh ran his first long distance run with RFL when he ran 16km at the RFL fortnightly run which was held at Bellandur on August 2007.
Since then Suresh has taken to running in a big way having taken part in the KTM 2007- 21K, KTM 2008- 21K, ULTRA 2007- 24K, ULTRA 2008- 50K,
AUROVILLE 2009- 42K, SUNFEAST 2008 – 10K, SUNFEAST 2009 – 10K ( 51 MIN –his best time)
Here’s what Suresh has to say on running.
“Running is a passion first, helps me distress and keeps me fit for the day to handle work better. Also not only does it help me stay fit, I feel better and stronger and more focused mentally”.
Suresh is already preparing to take part in the Kaveri Trail Marathon held near Mysore, the third edition of the Bangalore Ultra Marathon 2009 along with the Mumbai Marathon and any other events like the recently organized BSA Hercules Duathlon 2009.
Suresh signed off by saying, “It is never too late to start running – just go for it”.
