Beautiful Morning, Elevated adrenaline levels, Enthusiastic running teams…. Remarkable Urban Stampede!

Words wouldn’t suffice to describe the morning of 22nd August at the Olde Bangalore Resort, where around 600 runners had gathered for an extremely unique event…..the Urban Stampede 2009!

The biggest event organised by RFL saw runners swarming the resort, setting it ablaze with their enthusiasm, eagerness and energy! This year’s edition of the Urban Stampede saw 596 runners from 149 teams with an astonishing total number of 56 companies being a part of the event.

The car pools arrived in hoards by 6 a.m. and the teams were gleaming with anticipation as they collected their batons. The venue was buzzing with the runners interacting with each other, exchanging running tips and warming up.

The flag off saw 139 runners with their adrenaline pumped up, raise the energy level at the venue as the remaining teams determinedly cheered their first contestants. The race was flagged off by our very own Arvind Bharathi (A2) after he gave out the comprehensive race and route information to the runners.

The non-corporate race held after the corporate race saw 10 teams across the 3 categories show their grit.

Some phenomenal total timings were witnessed at the race, with the winning team shaving off 3 whole minutes from last year’s winners!!

Mixed Category - Tesco – 1:33:47

With the Urban Stampede being a runaway success, the runners can’t seem to wait for the coming RFL events…. the Kaveri Trail Marathon on 13th September 2009 and the Bangalore Ultra on 15th November 2009.
