Hi, I'm a second generation Indian-American living in the United States but have plenty of family still living in Bangalore. I am a competitive runner running for a college in the United States and put in a lot of miles/kilometers. My main concern with visiting India is that it would be hard for me to be able to run as much as I do in the States. I noticed that there is Kanteerava Stadium for track workouts, but since many of my runs are distance runs I was wondering if there were any places to get in 12-20 kilometer runs without having to run laps or loop around too much (and without a lot of traffic, etc.). I found this group and thought that this was just as good of a place as any to ask. I was also wondering how much people typically ran on the Saturday runs, and whether anyone met up on other days of the week to run as well.
One suggestion: If you run on the road/sidewalk run against the traffic. At least you can see the bike that is coming straight at you on the wrong side. If you run on the left side with the traffic they'll come hit you from behind for sure even on the sidewalks. 911 is non-existent here.
You must carry the cell phone for emergencies.

Depending on when you are coming and where you will be staying, you can find some runners on this group and run with them. You may also check running calendar on this to find if any run being conducted by RFL during that period.
