The criteria for inclusion in the nominations list are all the podium finishers in all the events during 2011 in the half-marathon and above categories.  Apart from the podium finishers, we have included few other runners who have had major achievements during the year. Brief Bios of all the nominees are given below:

 

Each person will vote only once and will give three preferences i.e. Best Male Runner – Preference 1, 2 & 3 and similarly Best Female Runner – Preference 1, 2 & 3. 

 

Marks will be given as follows:

3 points for Preference 1,

2 points for Preference 2 

1 point for Preference 3.

 

Runners who have gained the maximum points in the above system will be declared the Winners and 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up respectively.

 

Please write the name of the person chosen and not the initials only. Also note please the nominees cannot vote for themselves but can vote for others.

We would like to call nominations for the Most Improved Runner of the Year 2011 award - Following rules apply

1) Any person who is a member of RFL can nominate his or her friend, who should also be a member of RFL for this award;

2) The person nominated should be a runner from Mumbai only;

3) Any person can nominate only one candidate for this award;

4) No self nominations are allowed;

5) On the basis of nominations received by the cut-off date, details will be collected from the candidate of their performances from October 2010 to December 2011 in half marathon and/or marathon categories.

6) A three member unbiased jury will be formed to whom the data pertaining to the candidates nominated for this award will be given;

7) The jury will form its opinion and give its verdict on the most deserving candidate;

8) Minimum 3 nominations should be received in each category i.e. male & female in order for this process to continue. In case less than three candidates' names have been received, the award for that particular category will be annulled;

9) While giving nominations, please ensure that the candidate has had a consistent track record in races throughout the period given above and should have taken part in at least three races of comparable distances i.e. at least three half marathons or three full marathons and above;

10) However the candidates will be required to give their timings for all the races in which they have taken part during the period mentioned above;

11) Frivolous nominations will be rejected at the initial stage itself.

12) The award will be announced on the date of the Runners' Bash i.e. 21st January 2012.

13) Those who are already nominated for the "Runner of the Year" category are not eligible for being nominated in this category.

14) Last date for sending in nominations is 31st December 2011.
