Kolkata Half Marathon - 5th March 2011 announced

The Amity Kolkata Half Marathon has been announced.

I have written to them asking if they route is going to be open to traffic and if there is a cut-off timing at the half-way mark or something.

I know the route, very peaceful, very flat, very green, very picturesque. Be prepared for a smog cover at that time of the day.

Hi,

 

I was suppose to travel to Guwahati (from Bangalore) on 5th (wedding to attend there), as I came to know, i'm thinking about pre-poning my trip ... but might not have time to collect the goodie bag (and more important (the bib number), can someone collect it for me if needed ?

dude..no issues i hv had a chat with them ,,people who wont be able to collect ther goddie bag, can get it on the day of the marathon.

I do think that it's gonna be interesting to run in the more polluted City of Asia ... Definitely not the best City to do a personal best ... but just to see how Pollution can impact performances ;)

Have you all registered for the Marathon.. Ive heard that a lot of people are going to turn up.. After all its for a noble cause.. 

Also spread the word so that more and more people can join in and help in their endeavor..

Depends on your budget. In any event stay in south Calcutta. Areas with good access to the starting point and budget hotels would include park circus, gariahat, kalighat, chetla, alipore, hazra, new alipur, behala
