I ran with the RFL group for the first time last Sunday (Jun1st) at EGL. The experience was great and i completed 4km in good time. This was the first time i actually ran such distance with a group.

I however noticed after the run i had some pain in my left ankle. I have been regularly running on Treadmill in gym few times a week for a long time now but never had this kind of pain. Though it is not much the fact that i got it makes me think if i need to do something different while running on road or is it the shoe i am using. The shoe i am using is a normal Reebok Running shoe i got some time back. I might have to get a more appropriate shoe suitable for long distance running but i guess i should have had the same issue on the treadmill.

If anyone has any comments/suggestions pls let me know.

Hey Prakhar,

A good idea might be to get a gait analysis done to check what kind of running shoe would suit you best. Manipal Hospital offers this fascility. You can contact Dr Rajat Chauhan who is an AMAZING runner!!!

Also, there is a difference between running on uneven road and a treadmill. This might be one reason for your pain.

Hope this helps!
Sabine
Thanks Sabine. Let me work on getting the analysis done.
