Oxfam Trailwalker is a global phenomenon started as a training exercise for the Gurkha Regiment in Hong Kong 30 years ago. It is regarded as the world's greatest team challenge to overcome poverty and injustice. With teams of 4 required to walk (or run) 100 km in 48 hours, it is a test of physical endurance requiring mental strength and team spirit.  Last year, 15 Oxfam Trailwalker were organised in 12 countries.At Oxfam Trailwalkers, to date over 32,000 teams (128,000 individuals) have collectively walked over 12 million kilometres (the same distance as walking around the world 287 times!), raising over 100 million USD!

Oxfam Trailwalker is coming to India for the first time on 10 to 12 February, 2012 in Bengaluru. The Oxfam Trailwalker will start from a scenic location near Mysore and end near Bengaluru. We expect around 150 teams (600 individuals), both from India as well as abroad to participate at the event.

The registration fee for each team (4 members per team) is INR 12,000/-. And each team is expected to raise a minimum of INR 40,000/- from friends, colleagues and other liked minded people. We would be happy to help you with ideas and support you with resource materials for raising the minimum pledge.
